Story Point Poker
Story point poker is a collaborative way for agile teams to estimate backlog items. Use our free online tool to run estimation sessions in real time.
What Are Story Points?
Story points are a unit of measure for the relative complexity and effort of work items. They don't map to hours—they represent size relative to other items. A "3" might be twice as big as a "1". Teams use story points to plan sprints and prioritize the backlog. Learn more in our guide to story points.
Why Agile Teams Use Story Point Poker
Story point poker combines planning poker with story point estimation. Everyone votes with cards (e.g. Fibonacci: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21). The moderator reveals votes, and the team discusses until they reach consensus. This reduces bias and improves estimation accuracy.
Free Online Story Point Poker
Our tool is free to use. Create a session, share the code, and your team can join from any device. No signup, no account. Real-time updates show who has voted and when to reveal. Perfect for remote agile teams.
Story Point Estimation Best Practices
Use a consistent scale (Fibonacci is common). Reference stories—compare new items to ones you've already estimated. Timebox discussions to keep sessions productive. For more tips, see our agile estimation guide.
